Rebel Yell In the heat of battle warriors have used many visual and verbal traditions to rally themselves and fortify their resolve for the upcoming test. During one of the most intense battles of history, the Civil War, the armies of the South had a much heralded rebel yell. These true warriors never wavered in their resolve to push on to their intended target.
On a more peaceful note, have you ever wondered why during ski racing competitions there are cow bells rung? Actually the tradition started in the Swiss alps where the races were run on grazing areas used by cow farmers. The bell runging began to be the battle cry for the racer to battle on. This tradition has spread to other forms of competition such as cycling during the Tour de France.
What is your battle cry? What inspires you to reach? What implores you to do your best? Find that and use it like any warrior would.

Have you ever wondered if warriors of life ever just sit back and let their past track record get them by? The true warrior spirit always looks to improve his or her performance from the prior ones. Deep within each of us lies that spirit, that yearning to reach higher. Life is not a pinnacle though. It cannot be conquered as they say and you can rest at the top and enjoy the view. Life and any success is a journey and not an endpoint.
Keep reaching for the brass ring. Never tire and never give up. A warrior always evaluates the experience and keeps thinking of how to perform better in the next scenario. Do that for yourself. Always question yourself. Ask if you truly did your best. Be truthful and kind to yourself. Do not denigrate yourself if you feel you can improve. By the same token do not blind yourself by thinking that you are always the best and do NOT need to improve.

There have been good times in each of our lives. There have also been challenging times, but lets focus on those good time for now. Have you ever taken account of your thoughts during the good times? Most of us have now because we are caught up in euphoria of the good times. There is nothing wrong with this. It is the human condition to feel this way. There is a way to capture these good times in our memory banks and use these positive experiences for our challenging times.
Many of you have heard that I like to carry with me a Moleskine notebook. In it I capture these thoughts. I have many other uses for it, but for now lets focus on the good thoughts capture exercise. When I am with friends or family and am having a good time I ask myself “what is making me feel so good”? The first answer that arrives goes into the Moleskine, but then I ponder on other answers that arrive and jot them down as well. My page gets filled up rather quickly. Keep these words close to you and they will get you through the challenges all of us face.

Many of us have heard this word and have a basic understanding of its definition. What may escape us at times is how we can apply this to our daily lives. Being a warrior at life means having a determination or covenant with yourself to leave no stone unturned in our quest to improve. The warrior code of Bushido in many ways about doing the right thing, being fair, but most of all never yielding. This is the essence of determination. It is more than just being resolved in mind to do something. It requires that we act and be uniform in your purpose. This can be difficult because at time we let our ego govern us. This is not a character flaw, however, understanding that this is operative will help you live the warrior way of life.

Welcome to my new blog to help you go out and live the life of a true warrior. Being a warrior at life is more about pushing yourself to greater heights rather than being in actual battle with others around you. Being a warrior of life means living to lessen suffering and bring more happiness, both to those around you and to yourself. You cannot be of service to others until you have secured for yourself the life that you desire. Go out there and step on to the battlefield! Never quit and you will see things happen for you that you never thought possible.
